What We Do Best

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies has revolutionized many fields, including education. These developments present both challenges and opportunities. As educators, we must navigate this new landscape thoughtfully and emphasize digital literacy alongside traditional writing skills and critical thinking skills development. We also realize that Aartificial Intelligence can revolutionize academic writing by offering sophisticated tools for research and data analysis.

What we plan to do best in support of our SIG community and supports is the following:

  • Facilitate workshops and seminars on advanced academic writing techniques and best practices.
  • Provide peer review and constructive feedback on manuscripts prior to submission to journals.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship on navigating the publication process, including selecting appropriate journals.
  • Organize networking events to connect members with experienced researchers and editors in their field.
  • Identify and share resources, such as writing guides and templates, to aid in the writing and editing process.
  • Advocate for ethical writing practices and promote awareness about plagiarism and copyright issues.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration by facilitating joint writing projects and co-authorship opportunities.
  • Host panel discussions and Q&A sessions with prominent academics and publishers to stay updated on trends and expectations in academic publishing.

SIG Events

We plan to have a quarterly virtual PD event. We are also planning to have physical events in different locations. We look forward to your support and suggestions!
